Unofficially due...

on August 29. I had my first doctor appointment this past Monday and the doctor said that everything looks good. In about 3 weeks we will have our first ultrasound to determine an "official" due date.

My morning sickness began about a week ago. I don't know why it's called morning sickness because it seems to occur at all times of the day. At my appointment my RNP offered B-6 shots but I declined... I am re-thinking that decision. Yesterday I felt so nauseous that it was a pretty waisted day. Well, the bright side is that it should be over in about 6 or 7 weeks if this pregnancy is anything like my last one.

L.A. Soccer Tournament

This past weekend we drove the girls down to Los Angeles for Reilly's soccer tournament. Her team is a U9 all girls team called The Gunners. They are a pretty young team with several 7 year olds (Reilly included). They played 4 games and lost all of them. The L.A. teams are so much better than the Bakersfield teams. On the bright side we think that it's great to expose the girls to higher skilled teams so that they can continue to improve.Game 1Joel, Jill, and Maddy watching game 1.Maddy taking charge of daddy's newspaper and cell phone.Game 2... notice Rei is the goalie. She's wearing her white uniform, white socks, and a yellow penny. Her mom left her blue jersey at the hotel to "air out" so Rei played goalie the whole game. Oh well, it was a learning experience for both Rei and her mom.

Game 3 on Sunday.

Game 4 on Sunday. Rei is #4.

Flower Clippies

Natalie is modeling my first flower clippie creation.
During one of our recent San Diego visits Natalie taught me how to crochet. My first creation is this little beanie that I made for Maddy. I decided that I needed to girlie it up with a matching flower clippie.

Maddy actually left it on her head for longer than a minute. It seems that lately she doesn't want ANYTHING on her head. I am hoping that it's just a phase... I have made TONS of pretty bows that I am hoping she'll wear one of these days.

The flower clippie is easily removable for a plainer look.

Expecting...

a new addition to our family. Nick and I are extremely blessed to share that our family of four will become a family of five in 2009. We don't have the due date just yet but I'll keep y'all posted!

Christmas Day

This year our Christmas morning consisted of sleeping in till 8:45 a.m., baking breakfast casseroles, talking to family on the phone, enjoying the girls excitement, and spending quality time with lots of our family.

Grandma, Nick, Maddy, Rei, Grandpa, Jilly, & Joel.

Maddy ripping off the wrapping paper covering her new push toy from great-grandma Seiler.

Maddy & her learning leap frog train.

Auntie Jill knows that Rei loves playing games. She got her the Disney version of "scene it?" We had fun playing it Christmas night after Maddy went to bed.

We loved receiving the photo Christmas cards and being able to decorate our frig doors with all of our friends and family's smiling faces. My hope is to start a photo Christmas card album.
